Alumni Weekend 2020

Dear Alumni,

I hope this letter finds you and your family well.  As president of the Alumni Council, I have had the honor to watch our Head of School, John McWilliams '96, and our incredible faculty and staff dedicate long and difficult hours to the tasks of shifting the entire school to a remote learning platform last spring as well as developing and implementing a deliberate, well-thought out plan to open the school this fall without sacrificing MA's dedication to developing leaders committed to honor, scholarship, service and the pursuit of excellence. I am proud of the current leadership at MA and hope you are as well.

Alumni Weekend is one of the high points of the school year, allowing alumni of all ages the opportunity to come back to the campus, reminisce about the "good old days" and catch up with classmates and faculty.  It is with great regret that after careful consideration and discussion we have decided to cancel Alumni Weekend this fall.  One of the most rewarding parts of Alumni Weekend is seeing the great efforts made by MA alumni to travel from all over the country to participate in the weekend's activities.  With all of the uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, we just do not feel we can provide the same valuable experience that Alumni Weekend has offered in the past.  We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates if we can come up with alternative events this school year.

Yours truly,

Davis Smith '93
MA Alumni Council President
