Tony Jordan Appointed Upper School Director
Tony Jordan

The Montgomery Academy is pleased to announce the appointment of Tony Jordan as Upper School Director, effective July 1, 2018. His appointment was the result of a local, regional and national search that took into consideration input from The Montgomery Academy school community including students, parents and faculty.

Mr. Jordan comes to The Montgomery Academy from St. Margaret's Episcopal School in San Juan Capistrano, California where he has served as the Head of the Upper School since 2011. Mr. Jordan has extensive experience as a teacher, coach and administrator in independent school education. He began his career as a science teacher and coach at the Marist School in Atlanta, Georgia. Mr. Jordan also taught and coached at The Westminster Schools and served as the Head of the Upper School at Holy Innocents' Episcopal School, both in Atlanta. He also served as the Head of School at All Saint's Academy in Winter Haven, Florida.

Mr. Jordan graduated from Georgia Southwestern College with a bachelor's degree in science and has a master's degree in science from Emory University. He is married to Kim Jordan and they have two children: Carly (21), a junior at Carnegie Mellon and Connor (19), a freshman at Indiana University.

"I am excited to be welcoming both Tony and Kim to The Montgomery Academy. Tony brings with him a wealth of experience and a wisdom that will be of great service to the school," said Head of School Jay Spencer. "As one of his former heads of school said to me, 'the best part of the deal is that you also get Kim, who is a treasure in her own right.' We are looking forward to having this wonderful school couple join our community."

"Kim and I are very excited to accept the invitation to join the broader Montgomery community and I am honored, and humbled, for the opportunity to work with the world class faculty, supportive families and outstanding students at The Montgomery Academy," said Mr. Jordan. "I have always been compelled by those who are not afraid of vigorously pursuing excellence and immediately felt that pursuit of excellence as I met with faculty, parents and students. I am looking forward to a school year ahead with an engaged and committed learning community and continuing important work with my new colleagues and families to make The Montgomery Academy experience both inspirational and aspirational for our students."
