Artist Milton Madison Visits Upper School Art Classes

Local artist Milton Madison led The Montgomery Academy Upper School's Contemporary Drawing and AP Studio classes in figure drawing exercises. Mr. Madison first demonstrated how to capture a foundational likeness by sketching quickly & loosely while observing the whole form of the subject, and then leading students in timed drawing exercises, observing and rendering figures from live models--thanks to freshman Miila Chapman and Ms. Bocquin!

Mr. Madison is originally from Birmingham and has resided in the River Region area since graduating from Alabama State University with his BA in graphic design. In addition to his work creating vibrant, contemporary portraits, he is also known locally for his public art, having completed and contributed to several murals around and in downtown Montgomery and in Millbrook.
