Alumni Associate

Our Alumni: The Montgomery Academy alumni base is composed of more than 2,500+ individuals who excel in varied professional fields. Many have assumed leadership positions in the arts, commerce, law, medicine, government and military service, education, non-profit organizations and ministry throughout the world.
 
Position Overview: The Montgomery Academy seeks an innovative, strategic, and self-motivated Alumni Associate. The Alumni Associate will support the organization through planning and implementing programs and projects that engage alumni with one another, students, and with MA today. Serving as an ambassador between alumni and the school, the Alumni Associate is charged with motivating alumni to be engaged and involved in a variety of ways, including volunteering, mentoring current students, or philanthropy. The Alumni Associate should also develop relationships within the alumni community to better understand ways in which MA can support them in college and beyond. The Alumni Associate shall be a strong collaborator and communicator with a vision for alumni participation in the life of the school.
 
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Plan, implement, and promote alumni programs that support the school’s strategic plan to motivate alumni to be involved in a variety of ways (activities, philanthropy, volunteering)
  • Establish, build, and maintain relationships with a wide range of alumni and alumni families, locally, regionally, nationally and internationally
  • Facilitate alumni events including Alumni Weekend, MA on the Road gatherings, etc.
  • Coordinate Alumni Council and Class Representatives
  • Ensure accurate and complete alumni database records to optimize alumni data to be proactive in our stewardship of MA alumni
  • Develops and implements a comprehensive marketing and communications plan for alumni programs and services
  • Partner with the Upper School leadership to plan the growth and accessibility of career networking services for students and alumni, as well as creating and implementing special programming for current students to engage with alumni
  • Provides all content for Alumni publications and collateral material to include print publications, E-newsletters, and our Alumni section of the webpage
  • Collaborate closely with Development Office in increasing support from alumni and alumni families
  • Record Alumni stories and develop a repository of video and audio for use for school marketing
  • Promotes constant communication and alumni engagement
Desired Qualities and Qualifications of Admissions Assistant:
  • Confidence in self, the school, the teachers, the programs, and independent schools
  • A collaborative work style and the ability to interact effectively with students, parents and employees at all levels with warmth, tact and professionalism
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail while multitasking within the demands of a fast-paced work environment
  • Experience with database systems in a network environment and various software applications, including the Google Suite; experience with or eagerness to learn as well as a willingness to be trained in fundamentals of software and database essentials as necessary
  • Experience with event planning and volunteer management
  • Proactive, creative and detail-oriented team player
  • Self-starter who is able to work independently, but eager to be a team player, willing to assist where needed and eager to be involved in the life of the school
  • Willingness to travel, flexible with work schedule with availability to work weekends and evenings as needed
