Bear Field House Policies (Volleyball)

Fan Policy

  • Fan access is limited to the number of seats open to each team. Ticket/Access Validation will be completed in the Bear Field House Lobby. Cashless payment will be allowed on-site. Eagle Passes are acceptable as payment.
  • All fans will go through a health screening process in order to enter the seating area.
  • Social distancing must be maintained while attending games.
  • Masks are required on campus and while attending games.
  • Fans must sit as a family “pod” and be a minimum of six feet away from other family pods. Tape markings on the bleachers indicate available seating. Fans, other than school administrators, are not allowed to stand or sit on the edges of the gym floor.
  • If a child is one of the ticket holders, that child must remain with an adult at all times. Children are not allowed to play in another gymnasium, in the lobby, or in other common areas.
  • Fans will not congregate in common areas before or after a game ends. As soon as the game ends, fans must depart the gym. Fans should practice recommended social distancing while leaving campus.
  • If there are multiple games on the same day, fans must leave the gymnasium after the first game and show validation of their access to the second game.
  • Seating areas will open 30 minutes prior to the start of a game.
  • AHSAA passes will be accepted for admission to the game. The Montgomery Academy will reserve a limited number of spaces for pass holders. However, the school reserves the right to limit admission should there not be space available to maintain proper social distancing.
Team Policy

  • Each team must adhere to their own school’s policies when it comes to the health screening of their coaches and athletes prior to entering the campus of The Montgomery Academy.
  • Only players, coaches and trainers/support staff are allowed on the team bench.
  • The bench will be extended on both sides for more social-distancing space for teams.
  • Coaches and players on the bench will wear masks at all times. Only players who are actively playing are allowed to remove masks, if desired.
  • If possible, the visiting team should come dressed for play. However, if a dressing area is needed, we ask that the need be communicated to a volleyball coach or Athletic Director and a designated space will be provided. If a locker room is needed, masks must be worn and social distancing must be practiced.
  • Each team must bring their own balls to warm up with on the court.
  • Each team must have their own water bottles.
  • The visiting team may arrive one hour prior to a game.

Game Management Procedures

  • Scorer Table will be limited to essential personnel only.
  • Per AHSAA Guidelines, the visiting team bookkeeper will not be allowed at the official scorer table.
  • When available, PA Announcements will be made regularly concerning safety guidelines.
  • Benches will be cleaned in between matches at the coaches’ discrepancy.
  • Hand sanitizing stations will be located at the end of both benches for players.
  • Game balls will be rotated and/or sanitized regularly (at timeouts, each new game, if a ball goes into the stands, or any other time that seems necessary).
