Hanson Luquire Memorial Scholarship

Hanson Luquire was a 2003 graduate of The Montgomery Academy. Attending MA since Kindergarten, Hanson often reflected on his years at MA and the friendships he created in both his fellow classmates and in the incredible faculty who taught him over the years. Led by the generous donations of Temple and Susu Millsap and Hans and Lucy Luquire, friends of Hanson and the Luquire family created this scholarship to honor his memory and support the school that meant so much to Hanson.

The Montgomery Academy invites and welcomes rising 6th through 12th grade students to apply for the Hanson Luquire Memorial Scholarship.

The Hanson Luquire Memorial Scholarship, which seeks to promote excellence in academics, is a merit-based award provided to a prospective student of The Montgomery Academy. Each year, a rising 6th grade through 12th grade student will be chosen to receive the Hanson Luquire Memorial Scholarship to attend The Montgomery Academy. (Students currently enrolled at the Academy are not eligible for this scholarship.) A student will be selected in the spring for the following fall semester. The process includes an application, teacher recommendations, an interview and proof of academic achievement.

Selection is based largely on the following criteria:
  • Potential to be the most exceptional academic student
  • The skills, ability and desire to succeed
  • Leadership potential
All Hanson Luquire Memorial Scholarship students will receive:
  • Merit-based scholarship in the amount of $8000/year until graduation
  • MacBook upon entry to the 9th grade
The Montgomery Academy invites parents, teachers and administrators to encourage their most gifted students to apply for this scholarship.

Attending the Academy can be a transformational experience and we are excited to make this opportunity available to prospective students.
